Dipper is anyone who is an immigrant to another geography and is treated any differently by the people already residing there. The term is a derogatory term used by mainly Young South Asian 2nd generation residents for the 1st generation or new immigrants. The term is derived from Desi (From own country) - Indian (Citizen of Bharat modern day India) - Person (D.I.P). Dipper is also an artist based in Vancouver and India. He migrated from India to Vancouver in his late teens for higher education in business. Coming from a privileged background he only worked for the exposure and not to meet his daily needs unlike his accolades. This gave him access to places that new immigrants do not usually go to. He was always surrounded by people who were from different countries and cultures rather than his own kind. He started producing music in 2018 as a result of boredom and freedom of expression it provided him. While all his friends were dedicated for making a future in the new country and started working while they study, He started producing music. Dipper being interested in technology and games, carried on with music production as his game. He started playing a standalone MIDI Controller "Akai MPK Mini" which is an instrument run on batteries and have 8 beat pads and 25 keys. He played with it for hours with his Aux earphones without even recording anything as he didn’t knew it can connect to a laptop and he can have access to more sounds and advanced features. After a month of playing Dipper connected the MPK mini to GarageBand. This was his first introduction to the technical side of producing music. The doors opened up and his ideas flourished into reality because now he did not have to be a maestro at playing anything. He could create what he was feeling and the internet became his mentor.  During his journey of being a self taught artist and also studying for a degree he often found himself in situations where his skin colour and migration status started hindering his progress at university, workplaces and public spaces. He started to notice how untouched this internal racism issue was, which later on could be heard in his tracks. His friend, who was a big part in his early career introduced him to this term and that's when he started to go by the name of Dipper. His mission from that day was to depict how someone coming from a small town in India to a big metropolitan foreign city (Vancouver) can be a super success story and inspiration for other immigrants that they can make it big by following their passion and they do not have to follow a traditional path because they might not even be one and you will have to create one. His name represented two sectors of the South Asian community. One was a privileged kid having all the perks that a resident had in a foreign country like a supportive family, nice truck, living in a college residence, paid rent, organising parties, dating an European  girl, Leisure trips domestic and America, meals at prestigious restaurants, street reality (knowing the place like a local and not a visitor), good connections and a good grasp on the culture and the language. The other one was a brown immigrant kid going through racism from people resembling his own kind, his passion labelled as a wannabe, immigration issues based on his colour, looked down on as a second choice because of his temp status, misused by his employers as he was still a temporary resident and a judgement  from people who could not look past his skin colour and prejudice they developed through media and limited information they were exposed to. He had to develop his communication skills and introduce himself every time that he is a different type of Dipper. He respects the law, he indulges in the culture, he have his principles, he tries not to limit himself, he embraces his own culture, he is always dripped out, he loves adventure and travelling, he does not impose his believes as he knows everyone have to co-exist in this society together with varying views on things. So apart from his mission to have a significant success for his music and take listeners for a immersive journey into his mind, he hates mainstream media as it influences the youth in a way which is pushed to earn money. He believes that his music should always be pure and not money or success driven but feel driven, have his personal uncensored  point of view and hidden gems about hustle as a foreigner and making it as a rebel to the traditional paths irrespective of any social differences created by humans like colour, geography, financial status, language, religion etc. By representing the name Dipper he wants to unite the humanity and pull out all the differences because all of us are immigrants and foremost we are all humans. We made the borders for ourselves so we have the power to take them down as our strength lies in unity so let’s not let the people in power divide and conquer and thrive with a passion to help each other be a better person than before.
