Ep. 1 - Are you a Bent ruler?

Being creative feels like a burden sometimes. A burden to carry so many different personalities all at once, a burden to be commercially viable, a burden to make a living off the creations and still stay true to yourself and “Not sell your soul”. Woah! here it goes. But hey! this is what this blog is all about. Imagine yourself as a musician or a painter or a fitness enthusiast or a coding engineer or a visionary; taking time off from your life and sitting all day in your bedroom just being free, experimental and having fun with what you feel gives you the “POWER” to explore your horizons and ignore the environment given to you. Of course! everything you are is a reflection of your surroundings that you have been around and gathered experiences and emotions from but, when you are barfing your thoughts on a canvas in your space, does it sometimes feel like damn!! where did I get this from? like how did I even think of that if I haven’t read it, heard it anywhere or been taught. If some of you haven’t felt these emotions, I’d bet you that you might have at some point but wasn’t paying immediate attention.

When we went to our school we had so many diverse groups mainly nerds, backbenchers, the romantics, ambitious kind, rich kids, poor kids etc. Everybody got creative or innovated new techniques to get by any hurdle they felt they needed to jump over (even before you could Google or WikiHow all the solutions to your problems). For some it might be passing a test when they didn’t study for the test! the backbenchers got creative. For some it might be impressing their teachers so they bought flowers for them or read the psychology of what they like and don’t like apart from the scores, here the nerds got creative. Rich kids might go for a private tutoring with their subject teacher, again got creative. Poor kids got scholarship or told their rich friends to at least save them the lunch money so they can get that piece of stationary instead of a dry ass sandwich. Although it was always a hit or a miss for their creative motive to be successful, the constant struggle between the vision and the result is what’s called being creative. Being creative is a superpower and now you know that everyone is equipped with it.

Next Sunday, I will be writing about how YOU can be more creative but without any magic rules.
